Directions on How to Choose Workshops

      This year, we are glad to offer workshops that deal with a wide array of topics pertaining to Asian Americans. We are also pleased to have these experienced community organizers present at BASIC and offer their expertise on these topics. There are two different workshop sessions during the conference. The workshops are split up by levels because we acknowledge that students come to BASIC with varying interests and different levels of understanding of Asian American issues.

• Level 1:- You may have heard of the Chinese coming to America during the gold rush or even Vincent Chin, but you generally have not been exposed to many Asian Pacific American (APA) issues.
• Level 2- You have some knowledge of APA issues but are looking to explore other issues further.
• Level 3- You generally have a good foundation and understanding of APA issues and want to learn more about on-campus organizing and other skills.
